It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Dick Olela, a comrade in the international peasant struggles for many years. It is definitely an irreplaceable loss for La Via Campesina and the Kenyan Peasant League. KPL Mourns National Convener Cde Dick Olela
The Kenyan Peasants League (KPL) fraternity plunged into mourning after the demise of the KPL National Convener Comrade Dick Olela after a short illness that occurred yesternight at Christamarianne Mission Hospital in Kisii town in Kenya. Comrade Dick Olela was instrumental in the formation and development of KPL and was a key pillar and a militant who provided ideological directions of the KPL movement.
